Love vs. Infatuation (by A. Vance)

Many people confuse love with infatuation, Romeo and Juliet is a prime example of this. Romeo and Juliet do not know each other nor do they know about each others characteristics or interests. Yet they were willing to die for each other after knowing each other for only 3 days and 4 nights.

Love: Faithfulness, confidence. Willingness to make sacrifices for another. Working at settling differences. Able to compromise so that either both win or at least give the other person's opinion a chance. A deep affection; contentment, confidence. Partners communicate and negotiate appropriate expectations. Requires a lot of selflessness and polite assertiveness.

Infatuation: The state of being completely carried away by unreasoning desire. Usually short lived physical desire, crush, or lust, hormonal activity and an addictive chemical reaction in the brain. Infatuation is like an addicting to drugs. You want the adrenaline.

Infatuation is actually the first stage of a relationship.
Once the infatuation is gone, it’s hard to let go. You expected so much from that person that when they leave you are left feeling depressed and like drugs go through withdrawals. For example; Wanting to hear their voices ‘one last time’. Wanting to see them ‘one last time.’ Infatuation is indeed an addiction to another person.

If you want love stop looking for a Romeo and Juliet relationship. For that was only infatuation.
